tonight me and nick shared something.....no it was no the feel of each others anal lining....but the love for football. A love that makes us so devoted to the sport that it literally turns us into hermits for the next few months thus defending the whole reason we ever started liking the sport........thats right kiddies NCAA Collage Football 2009 came out today......... that brings a question to mind.............what is your fav. video game of all time. i want to see NO PS3 or Xbox360......this is your fav. of all time not the one that is your faV. RIGHT NOW
so put your brains to the test and show your true colors
and don't say i don't play video games......at one time everyone did!!!!!!!

Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES
its retarded how back then, you couldn't play a dynasty. you couldn't draft players, you couldn't trade players, etc... and the graphics were shit.
but i swear, me and my brothers played that game for years and never lost interest.
Gil Fennerty of the Saints was a kick-returning GOD!

First of all, this is a great topic.
Honestly, I can only narrow it down to two:
Modern (last 15 years): Metal Gear Solid for Playstation 1. I once faked having mono in high school to stay home a week and play this game.
Classic (more than 15 years ago): Mike Tyson's Punch-Out

I never said the NES version had a Dynasty. the Super Nintendo version had editable players, no dynasty neither.

This is tough. I'm probably the least video-gamey dude on this board, but I've been peer pressured to post on this thread, and I'm nothing if not a sell-out. I'd have to go with either NHL '94, because I remember playing that game endlessly back in the day. Maybe Super Mario Golf for N64. The new Grand Theft Auto is neat, even though I've never tried a single mission.
And I can rock faces off at Tetris Attack for SNES.
I'll go with those.

I once scored 37 wrap-around goals against the Hartford Whalers one time.

I have many favorites. Favorites from the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, SNES, N64, etc...
(I'm a very spoiled young man. Not proud of it, but spoiled nonetheless)
In my entire almost 20 years of gaming, I'm just saying 20 since I have been playing them damn near all my life, my favorite of all time is actually a tie.
"Xenogears" and "Final Fantasy VII" for the original Playstation.
Many people still say FFVII is overrated. The confusing part of that statement is that how can it be overrated if it's sold the most units out of any Final Fantasy and has remained a top favorite in people's and magazine's choices of "Favorite RPG of All Time" for a little over 10 years? That's no longer considered overrated at that point. Overrated is a term used for most celebrities who are famous for about a year or maybe less and other things of that nature. Not a record breaking video game.
And don't get me started on "Xenogears." If a game can almost be banned by the U.S. for its religious themes and content, it's well worth playing. Pick it up, if you can. Or read about it via Wikipedia and you'll know why I love this game. Hell, I got the soundtrack for it one Christmas. The composer Yasunori Mitsuda used the women's choir of Bulgaria (which, is the only choir I'll ever listen to intentionally. They are amazing!) in the soundtrack. It's jaw dropping the cultural feel they give the game.
If my grammar was not particularly accurate in this post, I apologize. I'm typing a little too fast because I have to get out the door and head to class.

I can't single out just one game as my all time favorite. I tried and it was impossible. There are games from different consoles that I can still play and love just as much as I did when I first played them.
NES - R.B.I. Baseball, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, Super Dodge Ball
SNES - F-Zero, Star Fox, Super Bases Loaded, Super Gouls N Ghosts, Final Fight
N64 - GoldenEye 007, WWF Wrestlemania 2000, WCW/NWO World Tour and Revenge
GameCube - Most of the Mario Sports titles, Super Monkey Ball
PS2 - Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth, Shadow of The Colossus
PS3 - Resistance: Fall of Man, MLB: The Show, Grand Theft Auto: IV

I've dabbled (occasionally been obsessed) with video games since I was a wee lad, playing Atari & Colecovision.
I'll go with:
'80's: Microsurgeon [Intellivision]
'90's: Twisted Metal [Playstation]
Aughts: GTA Vice City was mesmerizing. I played it 6 nights over a 10-day vacation.

Now that a couple people have waved the rpg geek flag, I feel a little more comfortable posting my favorite old video game. Earthbound (for Super Nintendo) used to be my favorite rpg back in the day. Any game where you battle evil aging hippies, modern art, and zombies is awesome, in my book.

Anyone on here who said their fav game of all time was a game from n64 or playstation didnt even have pubes when i got laid the first time.
Here is a top 10 list of ACTUAL classics from the era of a guy who was actually around for the original video game explosion.
10. Dragonwarrior (NES) This was one of the first rpg games to come out for NES....and if you had a subscription to Nintendo Power, Then you paid nothing for this GENIUS of video gaming firsts.
9. DOOM (PC) Almost an extension of Duke Nukem....Any bitches that didnt have the pleasure of enjoying this game....well.....actually I think you appreciate it more if you played the original Wolfenstein first.
8. STARFOX (SNES) Two words: N-Bombs
7. MEGA MAN 1 - X3 (NES - SNES) Probably one of the best series to ever come out on nintendo.....I liked 3 and x2 the best.
6. Castlevania (NES) I remember becoming obsessed with this game shortly after watching VHD for the first time.
5. Earthworm Jim (SNES) Who didnt think this game was fucking awesome? I played through it like 74 times.
4. Killer Instinct (SNES) So anyone who liked Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat should have loved this one......mostly cause of the 70 something hit combos in it......Nothing like cornering your friend at the start of a fight and combo'ing him up to the point he just puts the controller down and tells you to suck it
3. Does anyone remember N.A.R.C. for the arcade??? I used to drop 10's of dollars in that thing.
2. CONTRA (NES) UUDDLRLRBASS Not exactly elite but i loved this game
1. FINAL FANTASY 1 - 6 (NES-SNES) Although I wasent able to play 2-4 until the magic of the internet and an emulator, 1,5 and 6 I will cherish for all time. Never have I spent so much time playing at once and these were probably the best things to ever come out of japan.
Thats my top ten, if ya dont like it (SUCK IT FAG)
